Tunisia lifts visa requirements for Iraqi nationals

Iraq’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed appreciation on Friday for Tunisia’s recent decision to eliminate visa obligations for Iraqi citizens.

According to a statement issued by the ministry, this action reflects the agreements reached during the 17th session of the Iraq-Tunisia Joint Committee, which took place in Baghdad on May 12, 2024.

The ministry highlighted that the visa waiver would enable Iraqi nationals to visit Tunisia without the necessity of obtaining visas beforehand.

This step aims to boost the friendship between Iraq and Tunisia, enhance tourism and trade relations, and is anticipated to lead to a rise in Iraqi visitors to Tunisia while fostering economic and commercial partnerships between the two nations.

Last month in Baghdad, the 17th session of the Iraq-Tunisia Joint Committee was convened, led by Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein and Tunisian Foreign Minister Nabil Ammar.
