PUK’s Talabani Emphasizes Enhanced Security Coordination in Meeting with Iraqi National Security Advisor

In a meeting held in Dabashan, Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, met with Qasim al-Araji, the Iraqi National Security Advisor, along with a high-level military and security delegation.

Jalal Sheikh Naji, director of the Kurdistan Parastin and Zanyari/ Zanyari Agency, and Lieutenant Colonel Omar Salih, Commander-in-Chief of the 70th Forces, attended the meeting.

During the discussions, the latest military and security developments were addressed, with a particular focus on the outcomes of the recent Iraqi National Security Council meeting.

Both parties underscored the importance of continuous intelligence and security coordination among all armed forces to ensure the region’s stability and security.

Talabani provided a comprehensive briefing on the security situation and the ongoing terrorist activities of ISIS in the region.

He emphasized the persistent threat posed by terrorism, stating, “It is clear that the threat of terrorism is not over and the movements of ISIS continue.”

Talabani called for heightened intelligence and security cooperation, urging for an intensified fight against terrorism. “Intelligence and security cooperation must go to a higher level and the fight against terrorism must be intensified so that there is no room left for them and the stability and lives of our people are protected,” he asserted.
