Channel 8’s reporter, Evin Sheykhmous, reported that on the afternoon of August 9, 2024, a high-level delegation from the Russian Army made an urgent visit to Qamishlo Airport in Western Kurdistan, where they held discussions with commanders of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

The Russian delegation included Major General Avkini, Brigadier General Andrey Serdyukov, and Captain Nygry.

According to the report, the meeting between the two sides concluded. However, it has been decided that further talks will take place tomorrow, August 10.

Channel 8 has learned that the primary focus of the meeting was the recent attacks carried out by armed groups associated with the Damascus Government in Deir Ez-Zor.

The situation in this region remains tense, prompting the need for continued dialogue between the Russian military and the SDF.
