On Sunday, at his departure remarks, Japan’s ambassador to Iraq, Matsumoto Futoshi, marked the end of his tenure and conveyed Japan’s willingness to further ties with both the Kurdistan Region and the remainder of Iraq.
According to Kurdistan Region Presidency Media News : During their meeting, Nechirvan Barzani expressed appreciation and recognition for the efforts of the Japanese Ambassador in strengthening relations between his country, the Republic of Iraq, and the Kurdistan Region. He praised Japan’s constructive role in supporting stability and development in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, while wishing Mr. Futoshi success in his future responsibilities.
For his part, the Japanese Ambassador expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the support he had received from the Kurdistan Region’s institutions during his mission. He reaffirmed his country’s commitment to advancing relations and expanding mutual cooperation with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
