Iraqi Oil Exports to US Drop for Second Consecutive Week Amid Rising Overall Imports

Iraqi oil exports to the United States have declined for the second week in a row, according to data released by the US Energy Information Administration (EIA).

The EIA reported that US crude oil imports from nine major suppliers averaged 5.703 million barrels per day (bpd) last week, marking an increase of 104,000 bpd compared to the previous week’s average of 5.599 million bpd.

Iraq’s exports to the US averaged 121,000 bpd last week, a drop of 62,000 bpd from the prior week’s 183,000 bpd.

Canada continued to dominate US oil imports, supplying 3.953 million bpd. Mexico followed with 384,000 bpd, while Venezuela and Brazil provided 359,000 bpd and 280,000 bpd, respectively.

Other contributors included Ecuador with 247,000 bpd, Colombia with 142,000 bpd, Saudi Arabia with 140,000 bpd, and Nigeria with 77,000 bpd, as per the EIA data.
