Turkish Trade Minister Ömer Bolat is set to embark on a two-day visit to Iraq on Monday, aiming to enhance economic cooperation between the two neighboring countries.

Accompanied by delegations from the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM) and the Turkish Contractors Association (TMB), Bolat’s itinerary includes stops in Baghdad and Basra, according to sources from the Turkish Trade Ministry.

The visit seeks to boost trade and investment relations with Iraq, a key trading partner for Turkey, while also encouraging Turkish contractors’ participation in major infrastructure initiatives, particularly the Development Road Project. This project aims to connect the two countries via railways, roads, ports, and urban centers.

In Baghdad, Bolat is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani and hold discussions with Trade Minister Atheer Dawood Salman Al-Ghrairi and Transport Minister Razzaq Muhaybis al-Saadawi.

During his visit to Basra, Bolat will meet Governor Asaad Al-Eidani and take part in programs with trade delegations to further bolster bilateral economic collaboration.
