Pacific International Lines Launches New Feeder Service Connecting UAE to Iraq

Pacific International Lines (PIL) has announced the introduction of a weekly feeder service, the Iraq Feeder Service (IQF), to strengthen its operations and connectivity in the Middle East.

The new service will link Jebel Ali in the United Arab Emirates with Umm Qasr in Iraq, starting November 15, 2024.

The IQF service, an enhancement to PIL’s existing Gulf China Service (GCS), will utilize the vessel Kota Handal to create a dedicated route, improving connectivity between the Middle East and PIL’s extensive global network.

“This initiative reflects our commitment to expanding our presence in the Middle East and tapping into the region’s growth potential,” said William Ho, General Manager of Long Haul Trade and Line Management at PIL. He emphasized that the move underscores PIL’s dedication to meeting client needs and broadening its reach in the region.

The IQF service will offer a weekly sailing schedule with a swift two-day transit time from Jebel Ali to Umm Qasr, enhancing efficiency for businesses in the region. Feeder services like IQF play a vital role in the global logistics sector by bridging major hub ports with smaller, regional ones, ensuring seamless cargo movement within the global supply chain.

This new service positions PIL as a key player in improving regional and international trade connections while maintaining its focus on customer-centric operations.
