The Deir Ezzor Military Council of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), has announced the deployment of its forces to critical villages in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.
This action comes in response to escalating security concerns fueled by recent developments in western Syria, particularly in the Badia region, where large ISIS cells are reportedly mobilizing to exploit unprotected territories.
In a statement released by the Council, the SDF emphasized the urgent necessity of this deployment, citing appeals from local communities and the growing threat posed by ISIS. The villages of Salhiya, Tabia, Hatla, Khesham, Marrat, Mazloum, and Husseiniya are now under the protection of SDF forces to prevent the terrorist group from gaining control of these vulnerable areas.
The statement highlighted the imminent risks in the region, stressing that the SDF forces are taking proactive measures to safeguard the lives and properties of the local population.
The decision underscores the SDF’s commitment to maintaining stability in the face of persistent threats from ISIS, whose resurgence poses a significant danger to the region.
