Iraq has solidified its position as Iran’s second-largest export destination, receiving over $8 billion in goods within the past eight months, according to newly released Iranian foreign trade statistics.
Iran’s overall exports during this period amounted to 103.558 million tons, valued at $38.152 billion. This marks a 14.66% increase in weight and an 18% rise in value compared to the same timeframe last year.
Key export destinations included China, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India. These countries accounted for $9.9 billion, $8.3 billion, $4.8 billion, $4.4 billion, $1.6 billion, $1.5 billion, and $1.2 billion in trade value respectively. Collectively, they represented 82.29% of the volume and 82.94% of the total value of Iran’s non-oil exports.
