Convoys of forcibly displaced residents from Afrin and Shahba Canton reached Tabqa Canton on Tuesday, following a grueling journey lasting several hours.
The displaced endured freezing temperatures, hunger, and a lack of medical aid. Tragically, Nouri Horro, a member of the convoy, passed away during the journey, with his body later transferred to Tabqa Hospital.
This morning, a four-month-old infant also succumbed to the extreme cold, highlighting the severe conditions faced by those fleeing their homes.
The mass displacement follows an escalation of violence on October 27, when Turkish-backed forces launched widespread attacks on rural Afrin and Shahba.
Simultaneously, “Hayat Tahrir al-Sham” mercenaries advanced in rural Aleppo, forcing Damascus government forces to retreat.
This offensive has displaced thousands of families from Afrin, Shahba, Aleppo, and its surrounding areas, pushing them toward regions governed by the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria.
