Kurdistan Ministry of Natural Resources Criticizes Allocation of 50 Million Liters of Petroleum as Insufficient

The Kurdistan Regional Government’s Ministry of Natural Resources announced that Baghdad is expected to provide 50 million liters of petroleum, an amount the ministry claims is significantly below the region’s rightful share.

“The 50 million liters represent only 19% of the petroleum needs of households in the Kurdistan Region,” the ministry stated.

The ministry revealed that 243 million liters of petroleum have already been distributed to over 1.215 million households across all provinces and autonomous administrations this winter, with only 127,808 households still awaiting their share.

Out of the region’s 1.256 million households, each family is entitled to receive a 200-liter barrel of oil priced at 104,000 dinars, according to the ministry’s distribution plan.
