Nechirvan Barzani and Al-Sudani

The Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI) Presidency issued a statement regarding President Nechirvan Barzani’s participation in the State Administration Coalition meeting, held yesterday in Baghdad.

According to the statement, discussions during the meeting focused on key issues between Erbil and Baghdad, with President Barzani commending Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani for his efforts to address these challenges.

The statement read: “The meeting stressed that there is no political position on the issue of salaries of Kurdistan Region employees, except for technical matters, which can be resolved through dialogue and understanding. For this purpose, the president of the Kurdistan Region and the Iraqi Prime Minister will meet today.”

President Barzani and Prime Minister Al-Sudani are scheduled to hold a meeting today to further discuss these matters and strengthen coordination between the two sides.

The meeting of the State Administration Coalition also included the participation of Bafel Jalal Talabani, president of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), alongside Nechirvan Barzani, vice-president of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP).

This marks a significant step in ongoing efforts to resolve disputes between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Iraqi federal government.
