On Wednesday, Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani met with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani in Baghdad to discuss developments in Iraq and the region, as well as support for the Iraqi government’s agenda.
According to the Iraqi Prime Minister’s media office, the discussions focused on joint commitments between the federal government and the Kurdistan Region, as outlined in the budget law and based on constitutional principles. Both leaders emphasized the importance of cooperation between all political forces and parties to address ongoing challenges effectively.
President Nechirvan Barzani’s visit also included meetings with Dr. Latif Rashid, President of the Republic of Iraq, and Mahmoud al-Mashhadani, Speaker of the Iraqi Council of Representatives. He is also scheduled to meet Faiq Zidan, Head of the Supreme Judicial Council, and several political party leaders.
This visit highlights efforts to strengthen collaboration between the federal government and the Kurdistan Region amidst pressing regional and national issues.
