Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has announced that his government plans to deport migrants who break both Polish and European Union laws.
Donald Tusk explained that he had made this decision and directed the interior and justice ministers to swiftly draft a plan to tackle violence and organized crime by foreigners.
“Anyone who visits Poland, takes advantage of our hospitality and brutally violates the law will be deported from Poland,” he stated during a joint press conference with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
Tusk mentioned that Poland will not accept the EU’s migration and asylum pact, which would increase the number of migrants, but remains open to cooperating on measures against illegal migration.
Poland opposed the European pact last year but was unable to garner enough support from other member states to block its adoption.
