The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) has firmly rejected the findings of an Israeli military investigation that attributed the deaths of 15 emergency service workers in Gaza to operational failures, denouncing the report as misleading and inaccurate.
In a statement to AFP, PRCS spokesperson Nebal Farsakh dismissed the Israeli account, saying: “The report is full of lies. It is invalid and unacceptable, as it justifies the killing and shifts responsibility to a personal error in the field command when the truth is quite different.”
The Israeli military had released an internal review claiming the deaths occurred due to mistakes made at the field command level, rather than being a result of deliberate targeting. The Red Crescent, however, maintains that its medical teams were clearly identifiable and operating under humanitarian mandates at the time of the incidents.
The deaths of the 15 emergency responders occurred during Israeli operations in Gaza, drawing widespread condemnation from humanitarian organizations and raising renewed concerns about the safety of medical personnel in conflict zones.
The PRCS has called for an independent international investigation into the attacks, arguing that internal military probes cannot provide impartial or credible accountability.
