According to Channel8, the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) and the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) have reached an agreement to transfer the “My Account” project and the “Light Project” to the Ministries of Finance and Electricity, respectively.

In a letter issued by Umed Sabah, Head of the Council of Ministers’ Office, it was confirmed that the process of banking employees’ salaries through “My Account” will now be handled by the Ministry of Finance.

The letter further notes that the Ministry of Finance will oversee the project in accordance with existing laws and the Federal Bank’s guidelines. It also ensures that employees’ bank accounts will remain protected under the same regulatory framework.

A member of the joint negotiating delegations from the PUK and KDP told Channel8, “In the light of the last meeting between them, the PUK and KDP agreed that My Account should be transferred from the Prime Minister’s Office to the Ministry of Finance.”

The delegation member added, “According to the agreement, the salary accounts of the employees will be protected and no one except the owner can modify and deal with the account.”

Under the terms of the agreement, following the transfer of the “My Account” project to the Ministry of Finance and Economy, the process will be opened to banks willing to participate. Employees will then be free to choose any bank for receiving their salaries.

A source within the Council of Ministers confirmed to Channel8 that the “Light Project” will be fully transferred to the Ministry of Electricity.
