Iraq’s Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein departed for the United States on Thursday to engage in a series of high-level bilateral discussions aimed at strengthening ties between the two countries.
“We have left for the United States of America, where we will hold a series of bilateral meetings to improve Iraqi-American relations and coordinate efforts on regional and worldwide concerns,” Hussein stated in a message shared on the X platform. His statement was later reported by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
The minister emphasized that the discussions will focus on several key issues, including enhanced collaboration and joint security efforts. “We will talk about how to improve collaboration and cooperative security in a number of areas,” he added.
The visit underscores Iraq’s ongoing diplomatic efforts to solidify its international partnerships and address shared geopolitical challenges.
