The Iraqi High Election Commission (IHEC) has extended the deadline for registering candidates for the Kurdistan Region parliamentary elections until Thursday, July 18.

The initial deadline for submitting lists of candidates from parties, coalitions, and individuals was set for today. However, Jumana al-Ghalai, spokeswoman for the IHEC, announced on Channel8 that the council of commissioners decided to extend the deadline until July 18. 

The process of receiving candidate lists began on July 4 and was initially scheduled to conclude on July 15. This extension provides additional time for parties, coalitions, and individual candidates to finalize and submit their applications.
