Iraqi Parliament's Finance Committee Member: KRG Must Meet Obligations for Early Salary Disbursements from Baghdad

Jamal Kochar, a member of the Iraqi Parliament's Finance Committee, stated in an interview with Channel8 that for the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) to receive early salary disbursements from Baghdad, it must meet its obligations promptly and submit the salary list to Baghdad by the 15th of each month.
Kochar said the Kurdistan Region has not met its obligations to transfer domestic revenues to Baghdad.
He noted that the current political environment in Iraq favors KRG employees, as many in the federal government are seeking partnership with the Kurds in forming the next cabinet.
The Finance Committee member also said the Kurdistan Region initially informed Baghdad that monthly domestic revenues totaled 400 billion dinars, later corrected the figure, and ultimately pledged to send 80 billion dinars per month—of which, he claimed, only about half has been delivered.
