Rashid and Supreme Court President Call for Legal Solution to Kurdistan Salary Crisis

Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid and Federal Supreme Court President Jassim Mohammed Aboud met Sunday in Baghdad and agreed that the salary crisis facing Kurdistan Region employees must be resolved through legal and constitutional means.

According to a statement from the Iraqi Presidency, the meeting also addressed the need to enhance coordination and cooperation between the Presidency and the Federal Court to promote institutional unity.

The Presidency noted that President Rashid “stressed the need to strengthen the rule of law and the independence of the courts to guarantee the resolution of all disputes.”

He also emphasized the importance of finding a comprehensive solution to secure the financial entitlements of the Kurdistan Regional Government based on the constitution, applicable laws, and the decisions of the Federal Court.

For his part, Federal Court President Jassim Mohammed Aboud underscored the importance of addressing the salary issue in accordance with legal principles and the constitutional framework, highlighting the Court's role in protecting citizens’ rights and interests.
