U.S. President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that Israel has agreed to secure the 60-day ceasefire, with mediators Qatar and Egypt set to deliver the “final proposal.”

Trump wrote on Truth Social that his representatives had met with Israeli officials. "Israel has agreed to the necessary conditions to finalize the 60 Day CEASEFIRE, during which time we will work with all parties to end the War," he said.

He added that “Qataris and Egyptians, who worked very hard to help bring peace, will deliver the final proposal.”

Trump expressed hope that “for the good of the Middle East” Hamas accepts the deal, warning that the situation will not improve and “IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE.”

Speaking to reporters yesterday, Trump conveyed his expectation that a ceasefire will be reached before Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit, targeting next week for an agreement.

He also noted that Netanyahu has emphasized his desire to end the war in Gaza, stating he will take a “very firm” stance on this goal.

At the same time, Israel’s military announced on Tuesday that it had expanded operations in Gaza, where residents reported heavy gunfire and shelling in recent days. Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar warned Monday that Israel would resort to military force if a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement is not reached.

Efforts to broker a lasting truce have been intermittent since Israel resumed its offensive after a ceasefire collapsed in March. Approximately 50 hostages remain in Gaza, with fewer than half believed to be alive.
