The Iraqi Ministry of Transportation announced that daily air traffic over the country has surpassed 700 flights, after the airspace was previously closed during the 12-day conflict between Iran and Israel.
The ministry noted in a statement that the average number of daily flights has steadily increased—from 300 to 350, then to 450, 600, and now over 700.
Abbas al-Baidhani, General Manager of the General Company for Airports and Air Navigation, said that despite ongoing regional security challenges, Iraqi airspace has regained the trust of airlines,
He added that many regional and international carriers have resumed using Iraqi airspace as a primary route.
