In a major step to strengthen anti-corruption efforts, the Kurdistan Region Commission of Integrity has announced financial rewards for citizens or public employees who provide credible evidence that helps uncover corruption and protect public funds.

New Incentive to Expose Corruption

As part of its ongoing campaign to combat corruption, the Commission of Integrity will offer financial rewards to individuals who submit verifiable information and evidence exposing corruption within government institutions.

Activating an Existing Legal Provision

Ahmed Anwar, Head of the Kurdistan Region Commission of Integrity, said during a press conference that the initiative is based on an existing provision in the commission’s law.

He explained that any citizen or civil servant who provides accurate information about ongoing corruption in public institutions will be eligible for financial compensation.

Anwar noted that the size of the reward will depend on the scale of the corruption uncovered and the amount of public money recovered and returned to the state treasury.

Conditions for Submitting Information

The Commission stated that reports must meet specific conditions: the information must be supported by concrete evidence, it must contribute to the recovery of public funds, and it must help prevent the continued waste of state resources.

Call for Public Cooperation

The Head of the Commission urged citizens to report any information related to corrupt activities, assuring that all submissions will be investigated thoroughly.

He described corruption as a serious threat to the country and its public institutions.
