The Tehran Chamber of Commerce (TCC) has called for continued cooperation between Erbil and Tehran, saying the situation between both sides should return to normal and that trade should increase.

The trade volume between the Kurdistan Region and Iran has exceeded $3 billion since March 2023, the Tehran Chamber of Commerce said in a statement.

The Tehran Chamber of Commerce noted that they feel sorry for the recent events and hope that trade between the two countries will continue.

The Erbil Chamber of Commerce called on Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) businessmen to boycott Iranian goods in response to Iran’s Revolutionary Guards’ recent missile attack on Erbil.

On December 15, 2024, Iran fired 11 ballistic missiles at a businessman's house in Erbil, killing five people and wounding several others.

The attack sparked widespread domestic, Iraqi, and international reactions, with the Iraqi government forming a committee of inquiry and filing a complaint against Iran at the Security Council.
