In a significant development, the employment rate in industrial units within Urmia province saw a remarkable surge of 161% last year as reported by the director general of industry and mining in the region.

This surge was attributed to the establishment of new industrial facilities, which resulted in direct employment opportunities for 10,851 individuals.

Abdul Hamid Sartip highlighted that the issuance of 194 work permits for new industrial units paved the way for this surge in employment figures.

With a current total of 2,280 industrial production units in Urmia province, a substantial investment of 154 trillion Iranian Rials has been injected into operating these facilities.

To further streamline investment processes in the industrial sector, all industrial licensing procedures will now be seamlessly managed through the Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Commerce's service system. This initiative aims to expedite the issuance of licenses and provide investors with quick access to necessary permissions.

Noteworthy investments have been observed in diverse sectors such as mining equipment, roads and construction, electronics, as well as silicon, iron, and aluminum production. The surge in the establishment of new industrial units signifies a growing investor interest in Urmia province, showcasing a remarkable uptick in investment growth compared to other provinces in Iran.
