Rebwar Taha, the newly elected governor of Kirkuk, is set to officially take office today.

A press conference is scheduled to take place at the governor's office, where Taha will be sworn in by the president of the Kirkuk court, according to a report from Channel8.

Taha was elected to the governorship on August 10, 2013, and was formally appointed by the Iraqi president on August 13, making him the fourth person to hold this position since 2003.
