PUK Secures 16 Seats in Sulaymaniyah, PUK Election Bureau says

The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) has emerged as the leading party in Sulaymaniyah, securing 16 seats in the Kurdistan parliamentary elections, according to the PUK Election Bureau. This outcome comes after 70% of the votes in the region have been counted.

The PUK Election Bureau confirmed that the party gained a majority of the seats in the Sulaymaniyah constituency. Following the PUK, the New Generation Movement secured eight seats, while the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and the Kurdistan Islamic Union won four and two seats, respectively.

Additionally, the Kurdistan Justice Group managed to secure two seats, while the People's Front and the Gorran Movement each obtained one seat.

With the vote counting still underway, the results underscore PUK's strong presence in Sulaymaniyah and provide an early indication of the political landscape shaping up in the region.
