The 27th Galawezh cultural festival will be held under the slogan “For the Glory of Word, Galawezh Continues”.

In addition to local participants from the Kurdistan Region, the festival will host 170 writers, poets, and researchers from Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, Egypt, Syria, Algeria, Australia, Denmark, and France.

Siamand Hadi, the festival supervisor, told Channel8, "Bringing together these diverse cultures is particularly significant as it fosters mutual understanding."

He further noted, "Many writers who have participated in this festival have experienced a shift in their perspectives toward the Kurds and the region as a result."

On Thursday, December 5 at 2:30 pm, the festival will begin with an opening ceremony that will include the Sulaymaniyah Symphony Orchestra and well-known Kurdish performer Diyari Karadaghi. Following the opening ceremony, the days ahead will be filled with engaging panels and seminars.

The Galawezh International Festival stands out as a leading cultural event in Kurdistan, dedicated to fostering the intellectual and literary movement. Especially by serving to develop the skills of Kurdish youngsters.

The Galawezh festival began in 1996 and has been held consistently for 27 years.
