Multiple Earthquakes Hit Southern and Eastern Kurdistan Border Region

A series of earthquakes struck the border region between southern and eastern Kurdistan early this morning, including one with a magnitude of approximately 5.0 on the Richter scale.
According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre, the first quake occurred at 03:14 am, registering a magnitude of 3.4 on the Richter scale.
The second, more powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 4.8 hit the area between Kalar and Qasr-e Shirin in eastern Kurdistan at 04:02 am, with some residents in the Kurdistan Region reportedly feeling the impact.
Two aftershocks measuring 3.0 and 3.1 on the Richter scale followed at 04:11 am and 05:07 am, respectively.
