Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein met with members of the Iraqi community in Morocco on Saturday, February 8, 2025, as part of his official visit to the Kingdom.

The meeting, organized by the Iraqi Embassy in Rabat, aimed to reinforce bilateral relations in political, economic, and cultural fields.

Minister Hussein emphasized the vital role of Iraqis in Morocco, describing them as "a bridge of communication between the two countries." He noted that Iraq is "proud of its citizens abroad and considers them ambassadors in strengthening international relations." During the discussion, he addressed the challenges facing the community and assured them that "the Iraqi government stands ready to provide the necessary support to overcome these difficulties."

The minister also highlighted the progress Iraq is making in various sectors, affirming that "positive developments are taking place across the country." He pointed to the "major development in Iraqi-Moroccan relations, particularly following the reopening of the Moroccan Embassy in Baghdad," calling it "an important step towards strengthening bilateral cooperation." Hussein further stressed the importance of leveraging the potential of the Iraqi community in Morocco to enhance economic and cultural partnerships.

Members of the Iraqi community expressed appreciation for the government's support and proposed initiatives to enhance cultural exchange between the two countries. They emphasized "the importance of strengthening ties that serve the interests of both Iraq and Morocco."

Hussein concluded by stating that Iraq, alongside governmental efforts, "relies on the active role of its expatriate community in achieving these goals," expressing hope for "further constructive cooperation between the two nations."

This meeting is part of ongoing efforts to enhance Iraqi-Moroccan relations, which are witnessing renewed momentum toward greater collaboration across multiple sectors.
