Sirri Sureyya Onder, a member of the Imrali delegation and the Deputy Speaker of the Turkish Parliament, provided details regarding the delegation's meetings with Abdullah Ocalan. He stated that the first phase of the process had concluded “successfully.”

In an interview with HaberTurk, Sirri Sureyya Onder rejected any notion of dividing Turkey. He stated, "If Turkey is divided, what will be left for whom? Let me say as Ocalan says, if Turkey is divided, 50 Gazas will be created and we will all be destroyed together. We will not divide this country."

Regarding Ocalan’s message, Onder emphasized that it was directed primarily at the PKK, as the main party involved. He noted that the YPG was also founded under Ocalan’s influence, adding that the message applied to all, and weapons should be laid down. "We may visit West Kurdistan with Pervin Buldan," he said.

Onder also addressed a conversation between Former HDP Co-Chair Selahattin Demirtas and Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Chairman Devlet Bahceli, stating, "Bahceli spoke to Demirtas on my phone and wished his wife, Basak Demirtas, a recovery."

Speaking on the continuation of Imrali visits, Onder affirmed that they "will continue, and the channel of communication with Imrali will continue," adding that they might engage in discussions with Erdogan in the future. He urged all parties to abandon the language of preconditions and take immediate action.

Reflecting on his first meeting in Imrali, Onder described the initial encounter with Ocalan: "When we arrive at Ocalan's first meeting in Imrali, we shake hands, hug each other, he shows us the way, we sit down. We generally tell him about the situation outside. Ms. Pervin Buldan starts, and then I speak. Ocalan then presents his views. State officials are sitting there ready. Their number changes from time to time."

Recalling Ocalan’s response, Onder stated, "At the first meeting, he interrupted us and said we should spend our time productively. He said that ‘there are some things I have to ask about. I know you want to tell me something outside, but let me talk this time. For the next meeting, you can pass on your words and tell me about the outside.’ Therefore, we did not interfere in the matter except for a few words. He spoke about the social and historical background of his message and said he wanted something like that. He explained its historical significance, its philosophical background, and its historical basis. In the first meeting, he did not mention the dissolution of the PKK."

Regarding Bahceli’s remarks, Onder shared Ocalan’s reaction: "I was surprised by Bahceli’s statements. He is a serious person. I tried to find out what he meant by his calls. I finally understood him. He is a responsible person with a conscience, and I valued him very highly."

Quoting Ocalan, Onder referred to Bahceli’s October 2024 call for him to address parliament: "He is under a lot of pressure on this issue. Let us not make it harder for him. Let me not come to parliament. You are there, and I will speak from here."

When asked if Ocalan had set any conditions, Onder stated, "He had no conditions for what he was doing. There were no preconditions or conditions afterwards. I say that with all my honor. There are no conditions for federalism or autonomy."

Onder, reflecting on the overall process, said, “The statement was the end of the first part of the process. After that, there is a need for technical, infrastructure, legal, and political work. State officials and Ocalan have talked about these issues. It was the process. They are not conditions but a requirement of the process. We can say that the first phase ended successfully. That's more than 50 percent of the work because it was the most sensitive, valuable, and strategic part of the process. Everyone showed their determination.”
