​Iraqi National Security Adviser Qassim al-Araji emphasized the necessity for both the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and Turkish military forces to withdraw from northern Iraq (Kurdistan Region).

Contingent upon Ankara reaching a peace agreement with the PKK to conclude decades of armed conflict that have resulted in tens of thousands of casualties. 

Al-Araji stated, "We do not want the Kurdistan Workers' Party on our lands, nor the Turkish army... Iraq wants everyone to withdraw," highlighting that Turkish forces are present in Iraq under the pretext of countering the PKK. 

He further noted that Turkey has affirmed in multiple meetings that it harbors no ambitions toward Iraqi territory.
