Nouri al-Maliki, the leader of the State of Law Coalition, has warned of a threat to the electoral process, emphasizing that Iraq will not return to an era of coups and conspiracies.

"Iraq is facing elections, and clean elections must be held, free from the use of political money and manipulation of results," Nouri al-Maliki said in a televised speech.

"The stability of the political process depends on the elections. Peaceful change cannot happen without elections, and Iraq will not return to the era of coups and conspiracies," he stated.

The State of Law Coalition leader stressed that elections are a responsibility and urged citizens to participate, warning that abstaining would lead to ongoing issues and corruption in Iraq.

"In the past, Iraq has conducted elections properly, but the turnout in the last elections, despite religious fatwas urging participation, was insufficient," he noted.

"Those who are dissatisfied, as well as those who are satisfied with the political process, have no choice but to go to the polls to bring change and elect a parliament capable of legislating and overseeing," he said.

Concluding his speech, Nouri al-Maliki reiterated concerns about the threat to the electoral process, expressing readiness to discuss it further at a later time. He also urged citizens to safeguard the process and prevent any attempts to disrupt or manipulate it.
