The General Directorate of the Counter-Terrorism Group (CTG) in Sulaymaniyah, in coordination with international coalition forces, carried out a series of operations in the Garmian region—southern Kurdistan Region of Iraq—successfully locating and dismantling several ISIS hideouts.

According to an official statement, CTG units—working alongside coalition partners—intensively searched areas along the Garmian border to enhance public safety and eliminate terrorist threats.

“Several hideouts used by the group were seized and cleared during the operation,”

 the CTG statement confirmed.

The agency reiterated its ongoing commitment to fighting terrorism:

“The fight against terrorism and its threats is a continuous mission shouldered by the Counter-Terrorism Group and its domestic and international allies, and will persist until all terrorist positions and elements are eliminated.”
