Elon Musk’s fortune skyrocketed late Friday to an estimated $749 billion, following a ruling by the Delaware Supreme Court that reinstated Tesla stock options worth $139 billion previously voided in 2024, according to Forbes’ billionaire index.

The decision restores Musk’s 2018 compensation plan, once valued at $56 billion, which a lower court had struck down as “unfathomable.” The Supreme Court declared that the earlier ruling was both improper and inequitable to Musk.

This milestone comes just days after Musk became the first individual in history to surpass $600 billion in net worth, fueled by speculation that his aerospace company SpaceX may soon go public.

In November, Tesla shareholders also approved a record-breaking $1 trillion pay package, the largest in corporate history, signaling investor confidence in Musk’s ambition to transform Tesla into a powerhouse in artificial intelligence and robotics.

With this surge, Musk’s wealth now eclipses that of Google co-founder Larry Page by nearly $500 billion, cementing his position as the world’s richest person.
