Dutch authorities announced Tuesday that they had detained 15 individuals accused of spreading Islamic State propaganda on TikTok. Investigators allege the suspects sought to incite others to commit terrorist acts by sharing videos that glorified martyrdom and urged viewers to join the fight.

The arrests followed a nationwide operation targeting suspects aged 16 to 53, after an investigation that began in August 2025. According to the public prosecution office (OM), some of the content—subtitled in Dutch—had been viewed more than 100,000 times.

Thirteen of those arrested hold Syrian nationality, while three are Dutch. Four of the suspects are minors. They face charges including incitement to commit terrorist offences, disseminating ISIS propaganda, and participation in a terrorist organization.

“Glorifying and disseminating propaganda significantly undermines public safety,” the OM said, stressing that publishing Islamic State material is a criminal offence. Authorities added that further arrests could follow as the investigation continues.
