The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) has described Channel8’s humanitarian campaign for Rojava as “the largest campaign ever sent to the region.” According to SOHR, the convoy organized by Channel8 consisted of more than 120 trucks and aid vehicles, making it the biggest humanitarian effort directed toward Rojava in recent months.

SOHR explained that since the beginning of February, multiple humanitarian and medical aid deliveries have reached northern and eastern Syria in an attempt to ease the ongoing crisis. However, it singled out Channel8’s initiative as exceptional, noting: “In February, the largest convoy of aid and campaigns to Rojava came from Channel8, made up of 121 trucks and vehicles, which reached the city of Qamishli.”

The Observatory stressed that these efforts are vital to reducing the humanitarian pressures in the region, where civilians continue to face shortages of food, medicine, and basic necessities.

Kobani Under Siege
Despite some aid deliveries, Kobani has been under a strict blockade since January 18. SOHR stressed that “the aid that reached the city is very limited and does not meet the basic needs of residents facing dire living conditions.”

Medical Teams and Relief
On February 1, a medical team of 19 doctors from Sulaymaniyah and Erbil arrived to support hospitals. That same day, the Barzani Charity Foundation delivered aid to 700 families in Aleppo’s Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods. On February 2, 23 UN trucks entered Kobani as the first partial easing of the blockade.

Call for Humanitarian Corridors
SOHR emphasized that aid remains “far below minimum needs” and urged the opening of a permanent, unconditional humanitarian corridor for medical and food supplies. It also warned against “using the humanitarian issue as a tool for political or military conflict.”
