One of the Peshmerga wounded in the March 24 attack on the Spilk base has died today from severe injuries.

Iranian ballistic missile strike
Waisi Akhir Saeed Sherwani, a Peshmerga injured when an Iranian ballistic missile targeted a Peshmerga base in the Spilk area near the Soran border, was announced dead today by his brother.

Casualties among Peshmerga
On March 24, 2026, Sherwani was wounded along with 30 other Peshmerga. Six of them were killed in the attack, while the rest were taken to hospitals for treatment.

Drone strike in Zargazaw village
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, the Counter-Terrorism Directorate in Erbil reported that at 12:15 a.m. on Tuesday, an Iranian drone targeted a residential house in Zargazawi village, Darashakran district, Erbil province. The strike killed a married couple, Musa Anwar and Mzhda Asaad.
