Tourism Companies Association: Tourist Arrivals to Sulaymaniyah Increase by 70%
The Head of the Tourism Companies Association in Sulaymaniyah announced that the influx of tourists to Sulaymaniyah has continued since the days leading up to Eid.
A significantly higher number of tourists have headed to the city, marking a 70% increase compared to Newroz and Eid al-Fitr.
Hotels Witness High Occupancy Rates
Ata Anwar, head of the Tourism Companies Association in Sulaymaniyah, told Channel8 that through continuous communication with hotels and restaurants, they have learned that most are fully occupied at a time when they have the capacity to accommodate 25,000 tourists.
Tourists Arrive from Turkey, Iran, the Gulf, and Europe
He also noted that tourists are arriving not only from central and southern Iraq, but also from Iran, Turkey, the Gulf countries, and Europe, showing strong interest in Sulaymaniyah’s tourist attractions.
He added, “Affordable prices have made tourists prefer traveling to the city even more.”
Security, Environment, and Weather Boost Tourism
Furthermore, Anwar attributed the high number of tourists to the province’s security, its favorable environment, and its pleasant weather.
In addition, facilities have been provided for visitors, while the city is home to numerous attractive tourist sites.
