The Governor of Karbala, Nassif Jassim al-Khattabi, has announced that one of the city’s main streets will be named “Halabja” in recognition of the extraordinary humanitarian efforts undertaken by the people of Halabja during the search for the body of Ruqaya, the young girl who tragically drowned at the Ahmed Awa Resort.
