The official spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces, Sabah al-Numan, has emphasized the reinforcement of the rule of law and the unification of military decision-making.

He announced that Iraq has entered a new phase of strategic deterrence aimed at safeguarding national resources and securing critical energy infrastructure.

Joint Security Coordination with the Peshmerga Forces

Sabah al-Numan stated that there is an advanced level of security cooperation between the Iraqi Federal Forces and the Kurdistan Region’s Peshmerga forces.

Following recent high-level understandings between Erbil and Baghdad, this cooperation has been actively implemented on the ground to secure oil companies and vital national facilities.

He noted that this development reflects a unified security command focused on protecting national wealth and deterring any hostile plots targeting regional energy security.

Transitioning to Strategic Deterrence and Absolute Sovereignty

The military spokesperson reaffirmed that Iraq’s security and defense establishment has moved beyond a stance of passive reaction.

The country has fully transitioned into an era of strategic deterrence, exercising absolute sovereignty over its entire territory and airspace.

He added that this comprehensive shift aims to establish a secure and stable environment that enables major strategic development projects and supports national reconstruction efforts.

Restricting Weapons Exclusively to the Authority of the State

The Iraqi government’s position on unauthorized arms remains firm and uncompromising.

Al-Numan stressed that any armed deployment or paramilitary activity operating outside the direct command of the Joint Operations Command (JOC) will be dismantled.

He emphasized that there is no room for political compromise or evasion on this issue, describing enforcement of this policy as a foundational pillar of the state’s domestic stability program.

Universal Enforcement of the Rule of Law

Al-Numan concluded that the era of resolving political or factional disputes at the expense of state authority has permanently ended.

He stated that the law will be applied strictly and universally, ensuring that no individual or political faction is exempt from accountability.

Any actor who attempts to place themselves above the law will face decisive action by the security forces to preserve the authority of the state and the supremacy of the legal system.
