The Media Office of the Prime Minister said in a statement that al-Zaidi will meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and a number of senior officials during his state visit.

The two countries aim to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation, particularly in the fields of economy, water, security, and investment, alongside regional files and issues of mutual interest.

“The visit will also include discussions on mechanisms for implementing bilateral agreements and memoranda of understanding, as well as following up on and further developing joint infrastructure projects, in a manner that serves the interests of the two neighboring countries,” the Media Office noted.

Earlier, government spokesperson Haider al-Aboudi said, “The Iraqi government delegation will discuss in Ankara strategic cooperation files in the economic, trade, investment, security, and military fields, alongside the regional crisis and its developments of mutual interest.”

Al-Aboudi added that the water crisis, energy, and the Development Road project will be prioritized during the visit to advance mutual interests under the Iraqi-Turkish framework agreement.
