A separate Russian drone attack in the Chernihiv region injured four people, including two teenage girls, on Sunday evening, regional authorities said. Russia’s Defense Ministry said its forces struck two data centers and gas stations in Kyiv. It also reported strikes on a Nova Poshta distribution hub in Odesa and two vessels, one in the Black Sea and another at the port of Chornomorsk.
The ministry said the strikes were aimed at infrastructure linked to Ukraine’s war effort and grain exports. Moscow has said it does not deliberately target civilians.
Ukraine’s Third Army Corps said its forces had recaptured a total of 176 square kilometers in the Donetsk region since launching an offensive several months ago. The corps said its forces used modified Soviet-era BTR-60 armored personnel carriers as explosive vehicles and deployed ground robots during the operation.
Russia’s Defense Ministry said its forces had captured Novovodiane in Donetsk and Ulanove in the northern Sumy region. The battlefield claims could not be independently verified. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukrainian long-range strikes hit two defense plants in Russia’s Tula and Voronezh regions, as well as oil facilities in the Krasnodar region. Russian regional officials said Ukrainian drone attacks caused fires at three infrastructure facilities in Krasnodar. Russia’s Defense Ministry said its air defenses had downed 254 Ukrainian drones overnight.
