150 ISIS-linked families repatriated from al-Hol camp

Iraq’s Ministry of Migration and Displacement said on Saturday 150 families linked to the Islamic State (ISIS), comprising 620 people, have been repatriated from al-Hol camp in northeast Syria.

The families will be taken to al-Jadaa camp, south of Mosul, for rehabilitation.

The repatriation is Iraq’s first since December 2023, according to Rojava Information Center (RIC), which noted the number of Iraqis in al-Hol accounts for nearly half of the total inhabitants at 22,091 people. RIC data states Iraq has repatriated 16,318 people since 2017.

According to figures from RIC, al-Hol camp contains 18,028 Syrians and 6,912 third-country nationals.

Hawar News Agency said on Sunday that Russia repatriated 32 children from ISIS-affiliated families. Russia has repatriated 546 children from ISIS-affiliated families so far, according to the Commissioner for Children’s Rights in Russia, cited by Hawar.
