Belgian authorities recently carried out a forceful raid at the headquarters of Sterk TV and Haber TV in the suburbs of Brussels, causing substantial damage to the equipment housed within, according to various reports.

The police were said to have entered the news agencies located near Brussels without legal authorization, as confirmed by Sterk TV’s management to Channel8 journalist Bahman Hassan. Sterk TV released footage and photos showcasing the aftermath of the raid on their premises.

A source from Sterk TV disclosed to Channel8’s Hassan that despite objections to the unlawful entry, the police proceeded to break a significant amount of equipment. Additionally, reports suggested that the television station’s security guards were restrained by the police during the raid.

In an effort to mitigate the situation, local residents intervened to prevent further damage to the television equipment caused by the law enforcement officials.

Roj News reported that police seized laptops, computers, and various technical tools while disabling broadcasting by cutting off all cables at the scene. The police further vandalized equipment within the TV studios during the operation.

Approximately 200 police officers, dressed inconspicuously, cordoned off the agencies’ headquarters for a span of four hours before eventually withdrawing from the premises.
