The leader of the Palestinian Resistance Movement Hamas and the head of Iraq’s Fatah Parliamentary Coalition recently held a telephone conversation to discuss the situation in the Gaza Strip.

In a statement issued by the Hamas movement, Ismail Haniyeh and Hadi al-Amiri were reported to have talked about the latest political and field developments related to the Gaza conflict.

Topics of discussion included ceasefire negotiations and Israel’s ground invasion of Rafah, highlighting the ongoing challenges faced by the Palestinian resistance.

During the call, Haniyeh commended “Iraq for its support of the Palestinian cause and appreciated the efforts of the Iraqi resistance in solidarity with Gaza.”

Al-Amiri reiterated “Iraq’s unwavering stance against Israel, reaffirming the country’s solidarity with the Palestinian people.”

He emphasized the importance of the Palestinian resistance groups acting with wisdom and strategic decision-making during this critical time.

In response to the Israeli offensive in Gaza, the Iraqi resistance has conducted numerous attacks on Israeli and American interests, condemning the support provided by the United States to Israel’s actions in the region.
