Xatar, Prominent Kurdish-German Rapper and Entrepreneur, Dies at 43; Investigation Underway

Xatar, the Kurdish-German rapper and entrepreneur living in Germany, has died on Friday, according to reports from German media.
However, reports about the location of his death differ, with German outlet Bild claiming he died in Berlin, while other sources such as WELT and Express confirmed he was found deceased in a Cologne apartment.
The cause of death remains unclear, with the Cologne public prosecutor's office launching an investigation. An autopsy revealed no signs of external violence, and the exact cause is still under examination.
His fellow rapper, Farid Bang, was the first to announce Xatar's passing on Instagram.
Born on December 24, 1981, in Sanandaj, Iran, Giwar Hajabi adopted the stage name "Xatar," meaning "danger" in Arabic, as he began his music career
He made a significant impact on the German hip-hop scene, topping the charts in 2015 with Baba aller Babas. Xatar played a pivotal role in the industry through his labels Alles oder Nix, Kopfticker, Groove Attack TraX, and Goldmann Entertainment, releasing six albums, with his final record Hrrr in 2021. Beyond his music career, he was also an entrepreneur and music producer.
Xatar’s wife, Farvah, and their five children remain following his passing; the couple had been together for 15 years.
