Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), congratulated Zakho Sports Club (SC) on receiving the FIFA Fan Award 2025, highlighting the support of the Kurdish people.

FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) honored Zakho fans on Tuesday with the award for their humanitarian gestures in the May 13 march against al-Hudood.

‘This Victory Was the Result of the Consensus’

Talabani stated that “This victory was the result of the consensus and unity of the Kurdish people for this dear club.”

He emphasized that the accomplishments “show that we can achieve great victory with our unity and togetherness.”

Gianni Infantino Praises Zakho Fans' Compassion 

The award, presented by FIFA as part of The Best FIFA Football Awards, honors football fans or fan groups for their extraordinary passion and sportsmanship that reflect the positive spirit of the game.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino congratulated the club, noting that their fans are a “deserving winner” of the award.

He highlighted that the collective compassion of the fans during the May match “was moving and inspiring.”
