Iraq Meteorology Predicts Heat Surge, Temperatures to Reach 50°C

Iraq’s General Meteorology Department predicts a rise in heat levels, stating that skies will generally be clear and temperatures may reach 50°C.

In a statement, the department said that on Saturday skies across Iraq will be clear, and temperatures overall will rise compared to Friday.

Temperature Levels

According to Iraq’s meteorological forecasts, tomorrow’s temperatures will be:

  • Sulaymaniyah: 41°C
  • Erbil, Nineveh, Anbar: 44°C
  • Kirkuk: 45°C
  • Salahaddin: 46°C
  • Baghdad, Diyala, Karbala: 47°C
  • Babil, Diwaniyah, Muthanna, Najaf, Wasit, Basra: 48°C
  • Dhi Qar: 49°C

Sunday Weather

Iraq’s meteorology emphasizes that on Sunday, temperatures in Kurdistan and central Iraq will record a slight drop compared to Saturday, but in the south they will remain unchanged.

Monday Weather

The department’s statement added that on Monday, temperatures across Iraq will rise again.

Midweek Forecast

Iraq’s meteorology notes that on Tuesday, temperatures across Iraq will rise once more, and in some southern regions, heat levels will reach 50°C.
