A drone strike targeted a Kurdistan National Army base overnight, which is the armed wing of the Kurdistan Freedom Party (PAK), in Erbil's Darashakran district.

According to a Channel8 correspondent, the attack in the Chamshari area wounded eight Peshmerga fighters and caused material damage to the facility.

The Peshmerga members have been transported for medical treatment, and the strike also inflicted structural damage on the base.

Kurdistan Region Faces Barrage of Drone and Missile Attacks

Driven by a resurgence of hostilities between the United States and Iran, this wave of cross-border drone and missile strikes has significantly intensified across the Kurdistan Region, causing heavy casualties and extensive infrastructure damage.

In addition to overnight strikes, Erbil authorities confirmed earlier that International Coalition air defenses destroyed five bomb-laden drones over the city's airspace on Friday night, resulting in zero reported casualties.

The Kurdistan Region Security Agency (Asayish) also stated that a separate barrage of seven missiles struck multiple locations across the Sulaymaniyah governorate on Friday, causing nine fatalities.

Presidency and KRG Condemn Strikes as Sovereign Violation

The Kurdistan Region Presidency strongly condemned the missile and drone attacks, calling them a dangerous development and a clear violation of Iraqi sovereignty.

Meanwhile, the KRG also condemned the “unjustified attacks” by Iran, stressing that, “The continuation of these assaults destabilizes the security of the entire region.”
